Our board is composed of dedicated individuals who bring a wealth of experience, expertise, and passion to our mission to empower youth and underprivileged individuals by harnessing their talents, fostering creativity, and creating new opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Our goal is to serve as a strategic resource in the full development of individuals, positively impacting the creation and sustainability of healthy communities, with a particular focus on job development.

Each member is committed to guiding C.U.T in its strategic decisions, fostering community partnerships, and ensuring effective stewardship of resources. Together, we work tirelessly to advance our goals, advocate for our cause, and create a positive impact in the community we serve.

CEO & Board President

Nathaniel (Nate) Crittenden

Crittenden is the visionary of the non-profit organization, always looking for ways to pay it forward especially helping the youth of our communities. A man of vision, drive, passion and purpose. He has a passion for teaching and training new and upcoming barbers—teaching all aspects of the trade, as well as communication, ethical practices, entrepreneurship and professionalism. Crittenden is the recipient of numerous awards—Ford Motor Company Fund; Reginal F. Lewis Museum Men of Courage Barbershop Challenge 2022; The Joe Manns Black Wall Street Award; Black Wall Street Woodmore 2017 and the Prince George’s County Chapter Alpha Phi Alpha Recognition 2018. Additionally, he has received numerous proclamations from elected officials throughout the State of Maryland.

Belynda Gentry

Board Administrator

Gentry brings over 30 years of experience in local, national and international outreach. Her leadership experience encompasses government, non-profit, church and community organizations. She is passionate about helping individuals reach their full potential. Gentry is gifted in administration.

Joseph Powell, III

Board Treasurer

J. Powell is an experienced accounting and audit professional with over 15 years of expertise in various areas. Powell is an accomplished project leader who ensures that organizational components meet risk management and compliance standards. Through partnerships, Powell has helped organize various community outreach programs and events for surrounding communities throughout Prince Georges County.

Sharon J. Coker

Board Member

Coker is the Executive Director of SLK Health Services Corporation located in Lanham, Maryland. SLK is a 501c (3) community-based, non-profit organization servicing the Washington Metropolitan EMA. She serves as Commissioner on the Maryland HIV Planning Group (HPG) and the DC Regional Planning Commission on Health (COHAH). She is an active member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Prince Georges County Chapter where she holds the position as Chairman of the Outreach Committee and is a member of the Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Bowie State University Nursing Advisory Board. She is a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Barry L. Powell

Board Member

B. Powell is a dynamic and seasoned executive, currently serving as the DGS ORE Chief, Lease Compliance & Construction for the Maryland Department of General Services. Recognized for his strategic acumen, Barry was designated by the National Governor’s Association (NGA) to lead a task force on improving State Government Performance Contracting and has collaborated with the National Guard and Homeland Security to enhance electric grid resiliency. He is a sought-after public speaker, and a champion for economic opportunity, actively supporting an expansive network for small, women-owned, and veteran-owned companies. He loves to give back to the community through writing and participation in initiatives.

Nakeeta Queen

Board Member

Queen is a Program Assistant with the City of District Heights and brings over 20 years of front-facing customer service and administrative experience. A longtime leader at the American Psychological Association, she contributed to key system transitions and earned a Certificate in Quality Assurance. Known for her reliability, attention to detail, and collaborative spirit, NaKeeta is committed to advancing organizational missions with integrity and compassion. She believes in

Petrina Moore-Pervall

Director of Marketing

Moore-Pervall is a seasoned human factors engineer with over 20 years of experience and a master’s degree in the field. She has dedicated her career to prioritizing user centered research and inclusive design, helping organizations align their technology with the needs of the people they serve. Beyond her professional work, she is a passionate advocate for equitable technology and social justice. She commits her time, skills and resources to causes like combating algorithmic bias, protecting civil rights, and supporting women and children in crisis.
