Life Skills Academy at Longfields Elementary

Longfield students at Life Skills Academy

Empowering every cheetah to thrive in life.

Belynda Gentry
C.U.T. Executive Director

We are thrilled to announce the successful launch of the Life Skills Academy, an engaging new after-school program at Longfield’s Elementary that kicked off on April 13.

The program aims to equip elementary students with practical skills that foster independence, confidence, and social-emotional growth.

Designed to support students holistically, the program takes a step-by-step approach by providing age-appropriate topics to students in 2nd through 5th grade. C.U.T.’s Executive Director, Mrs. Belynda Gentry, is facilitating sessions to teach time management, hygiene routines, organization skills, life transitions and healthy friendships.

For an uplifting touch of care and to make sure our students look and feel their best, we partnered with N’Style Barber & Salon to provide them with free haircuts on May 12.

2026 School-year Sessions:

  • April 13: Time Management for 2nd graders
  • April 20: Hygiene for 3rd graders
  • April 27: Organization Skills for 4th graders
  • May 11: Transitional Goals/Friendship for 5th graders
  • May 12: Free Student Haircuts

We look forward to expanding these foundational life skills as this program at Longfields Elementary continues to grow!
